Punta Banda Strong weekly trash pick-up! Win a trophy for the most interesting trash items!

Punta Banda Strong is a weekly beach cleanup initiative founded by Gary Woodruff, modeled after the Solo Sweep project.

In late 2020, as the pandemic was taking away public gatherings on beaches in California, they started doing Solo Sweep. The idea was to go out alone, pick up only ten pieces of trash (more if you like), take a picture of the weirdest thing you found, then post it and tag some friends.

Every week we invite you to pick up litter from the beaches and other natural areas on the Punta Banda Peninsula and participate in a contest to see who can find the most unusual or interesting piece of trash. You could pick up the trash anytime, but it must be posted by end of day on Thursday for the chance to win a beautiful beach trophy!
